Linking to Santa Barbara Hikes / Link Swapping
I get an occasional request to swap links. Here is my policy on linking or link swapping to Santa Barbara Hikes:
The Internet is all about links. Go ahead and link all you want to Santa Barbara Hikes. Please do not ask for a link to your site in exchange for a link on yours. Any requests for link exchanges usually will not be answered.
If you really, really think I might like to post a link to your site, please make sure your site meets the following guidelines, then go ahead and ask. I don't promise a link, however, or a response.
- Your site contains a specific topic of information. I am not interested in links to broad, general resource sites, portals, or link farms.
- Your specific topic of information is related to hiking in Santa Barbara or surrounding counties, the environment in Santa Barbara, or other outdoor activities Santa Barbara hikers might be interested in such as surfing, kayaking or other non-competitive activities done out in nature. No organized sports or things that happen in or near gyms.
- Preferences are given to sites that aren't in it for the money.
- Sites like "Joe's Favorite Hikes" are a little too specific. Instead, post a link in the Forum.
- Your site isn't already listed on one of the links I already have. For example, I found a nice list of local environmental organizations on UCSB's library site. If your organization is not listed there, perhaps you should ask them instead of me. If it is listed there, then there's no need to ask me.
I'm not trying to be mean or fussy. Finding other sites is what Google is for. I only offer a few links here just so people don't have to ask me for information on these topics. Addressing every request for links requires me to sift through a lot of spam. So I appreciate your understanding regarding this issue.
