Aliso Canyon Trail

From Santa Barbara Mission...

Get on US 101 going northbound by taking Laguna St. to Mission St. (toward the ocean).

Turn right on Mission St.

Follow Mission St. to the freeway and take US 101 north.

Take the Lake Cachuma/Highway 154 exit.

Follow signs to Highway 154 and turn right on to 154.

Head up the mountains and down the other side.

Turn right on Paradise Rd. There is a brown recreation sign before the turn.

Follow Paradise Rd. to the Ranger Station. It is before the first crossing of Paradise Road and the Santa Ynez River, so if you cross a river you went too far. There is a prominent sign on Paradise Road pointing you to Sage Hill Campground. That's where you are going, so turn there, a left turn. If the ranger station is open you may be able to purchase an Adventure Pass. You will need an Adventure Pass to park your car.

The road makes a hairpin turn down to the river. After crossing the river, head into the campground following the road to the right. Make sure you go right. The parking area is around the bend, and it's pretty big, so you can't miss it.

Aliso Canyon trail begins at the large interpretive sign at the mouth of the small canyon.

It's about a 30 minute drive or so.
