7 Falls
7 Falls is popular with high school and college kids. You basically follow a creek a short distance to a pool where if the pool has water and isn't filled in with silt you can jump off the rocks and cool off in the water.
The hike is about 2 or 3 miles round trip with an elevation gain of about 800 ft.
Please note: Parking at the trailhead is limited and strict. You must park behind the white line or else they really do ticket and tow. It is a congested neighborhood and parking within the white line helps emergency vehicles get through. Please be courteous to car traffic as you walk up and down the road and let residents get through. Please keep dogs on leash because there is a flock of free-range chickens that lives in the area. Residents have been pretty vocal about the traffic and safety issues in the area and your courtesy will keep the trailhead open.
Be careful to park with your tires completely within the line or you will be towed. It is a congested neighborhood and parking within the white line helps emergency vehicles get through. Hike up to the end of the road by the large water tank and metal gate across the road. This is the trailhead.
Pass through the iron, locked gate near the large water tank and follow the paved Edison Rd.
At approx. 3/4 mile cross creek on a bridge. Around the bend the road becomes dirt. There is a junction here marked with a large sign. Stay straight on the dirt road at this junction.
Go just a little ways, maybe a few hundred yards further, and off to the right is the sign and junction for Tunnel Trail. Continue straight, not taking Tunnel Trail, for a few more yards to the junction on the left for Jesusita Trail.
At about the 1 mile mark you will reach the creek. Turn right and leave the trail. Follow the creek on the path of least resistance. You may get your feet wet.
Boulder hop all the way up the creek to 7 Falls.
You know you have reached 7 Falls when you can't go any further without some very difficult rock climbing.
All told, the hike is approximately 3 miles round trip. To get back to your car, return the way you came.
